Fishing is an ancient practice that has been in existence for more than 10,000 years. During this time, people use various techniques and methods for fishing. At present it is considered as one of the favorite past times of American people. Fresh water fishing is the most popular form of fishing. The term fishing is not only applied for catching fishes but also to other aquatic animals such as crabs, prawns, lobster, shell fish etc. The different techniques used for fishing include hand gathering, spear fishing, angling, netting, and trapping. There is a relation between the technique and the knowledge about the fish regarding its behavior such as migration, habitat and foraging etc. There are certain tips you should know before going for fishing and they are discussed below.

Wind is one of the most important factors that influence fish hunting. Steady and firm winds send most of the fishes towards the river shore. Fishing near shore areas during high winds is an ideal way to catch more fishes. You will have to use the right method for fishing near the river shores. You need make use of a fishing tackle for fishing. Make sure that you use the right bait for fishing. A live bait is most commonly preferred since it attracts most of the fishes. The most effective bait you can use for hunting fish is worm. Netting can also be used, but it is least preferred.

Most of the fishes are found on the outside bends of a river. Fishing in these areas helps you to catch more fishes. The fishes cannot withstand the current of water in this area. You can take your equipment and fish anytime when they are encountered in the current.

You need to alter your tactics for fishing during different seasons. For instance, during spring time, the fishes move to shallow waters. So you have to look for them in this area. A minnow and bobber typically works well for catching them during this period. During summer you might be lucky enough to catch fishes in deep waters. Night fishing in summer is a good idea to catch more fishes. Fishes are abundantly found around the docks during the fall of October and November. The fishes in cold water during winter season mostly move slower and they may not chase a lure that is located very far. So you can use the light weigh jigs and begin your fishing in a slow manner. You can use a 1/8 or a much lighter jigs that is attached to a lighter medium or light rod. If you have found any fish on the depth finder, you need to move the jig up and down. You should not use aggressive strikes as you may do it doing the summer or spring. You can also use a bobber keeping your jig in the right position.

If you try out these tips next time when you go for fishing, you will definitely improve your knowledge and skills regarding how to catch fishes.

Fishes are delicious to have for dinner. But have you ever had the fortune to taste a fish which you caught? To be honest, it something that everyone should try. Buying a fish from the local market and having them with food is something that is very mundane. Hence, it wouldn’t be surprising if after sometime, you feel that that fish tastes stale. Going out for fishing with your fishing gear is definitely an experience in itself. Bringing it back home and having it for curry will ten definitely be moment to savor in your culinary experience.

However, not all are experienced in the art of fishing. In the age of internet, it is not that difficult it finds guidelines for fishing. However, for those few are still unable to learn the basics of fishing, this article would serve that purpose.

The first basic step is to find a lake that lies at proximity. You wouldn’t want to choose a lake that lies far from your home. If you are new to a particular area, then you can ask around for the nearest lake. Otherwise you can check the internet. Some websites will be equipped with maps and other such related markings so as to help people to identify lakes and ponds that lie nearby a particular place. The next important step is to identify which kind of fish you are fishing for and whether the particular breed is there in the particular pond.

After identifying the pond or lake and the kind of fish you are looking for, it is time to buy fishing equipment. For capturing any kind of fish, you will require a fishing rod, lures, fishing line and bait. The Pistol grip of the rod must be held in the dominant hand. As for people who are right handed, they will have to turn the rods sideways. This will make the handle point of the reel straight up. As far as left handed people are considered, the rod handle must be pointed down. After this, push the thumb button. It must be pressed downwards.

Find a spot in the lake as your target and aim the rods at the targets. At this time, the fishing rod must be held at the eye level, pointing right towards the area were your about to cast it. Before releasing the thumb button, make sure that the rod is just at your eye level. Once it is at your eye-level, release the lure towards your target area in the pond.

Once the lure is in the water, allow it to stay in the water for some time. While reeling back, pull it back slowly. There is yet another method if you intend to fish using a bobbin. In that case you will have to rest the line on the water surface. If you feel that the bobbin is pulled down by something, then that means that a fish has bitten the bait. In addition to the above mentioned steps, there are several other methods which you yourself can try out with your ingenuity. Don’t stick to the norms, try something creative and go fishing your own way.

People are very much interested in going for fishing. There are numerous online websites providing with loads of information regarding bass fishing and other styles of fishing. The information you gather from most of the sites are almost same. Here we are discussing a special factor which determines the quantity of your catch. It is the lure used to seduce the fish towards the bait. Fishing lures will help you to catch more fish and will even assist you to win an important fishing competition. Fishing lures are made based on the different styles of fishing. In the case of bass fishing there is different type of lure. There are different types of lure for catching fishes of different sizes. There are special lures for fishing in shallow water, for catching small fish, for fishes swimming fast, and for big and small fishes.

The success in bass fishing depends on the ability in drawing the attention of the fish towards the bait. This is what the lures will do for you. Lures are made to make movements in different styles and patterns. Some lure are made to rotate others have wiggling motion. Some of the lures can combine these two motions to produce a feeding emotion in the mind of the fishes. Lures with multicolored designs are easily spotted by the fish. A thing which looks like a fish also excites the live ones to go towards them. Therefore the lures which imitates the motion of a fish is also a good lure. The basic design for a lure is a slightly thick material with thin edges for getting the angle when it gets wet.

As like the motion of the lure, the design of the lure will also determine the success of using a lure. Lures are made using different types of materials. Nowadays they are made in silver, gold plated, plastic, carbon etc. The choice of color is also worth noticing. There are gold, silver, yellow, green, rainbow colors, and different shades of red. The size of the lure depends on upon the size of the fish you are intending to catch. Small lures with tiny edges and hooks are meant for small fishes. These will not hold the big fishes to the hook. The larger ones are meant for the big fishes. Small fishes will not come near to a lure for big fish, thinking that it’s just another predator waiting for them.

The weight of the lure is another factor which will determine your success in catching a fish. There are lures which are ultra-light ones; these are angled in such a way so as to obtain a spin due to the water current. The fishes get near to a lure for different reason. Some will come by mistaking it as food. Some of the fishes will be just trying to thrust away some intruders. Lures in the shape of fish seems to the most effective and commonly used lure. The deep sea fishing lures are little different from the common one. They are more sturdy and expensive. Some people even use a tint of blood in their lure to attract big fishes in seas.

The Utah Fishing Guide is the most comprehensive, single-source reference to fishing in Utah,” said the book’s author Steve Cook. The Utah Fishing Guide became an instant hit when it was released last spring, drawing impressive reviews of prominent sportsmen.

The book has now been updated and expanded, so it is even more useful. The guide offers specific descriptions of the hundreds of lakes, rivers and streams of the state including, detailed maps, an improved index, mileage charts, species charts plus information of fishing clubs and handicapped-accessible waters. The guide also includes many updated sections including the regulation changes for the New Year. “Aquatic environments are dynamic and changeable; this 2000 edition of the Utah Fishing Guide has been updated to reflect current conditions and includes the new fishing regulations for the year 2000,” said Cook.

“It has been expanded to 592 pages and includes a new Utah Trip Planner, information on boating in Utah, tips on fishing photography, trophy lake trout techniques and new fishing destinations.” Whether fishing in the majestic splendor of Lake Powell or casting flies in the Green River below the Flaming Gorge Dam, Utah is a haven for people from throughout the west to fish and enjoy the true outdoors.

“To the newcomer to Utah or the fisherman looking for a new fish and different techniques, the book is as valuable as the right lure,” said Deseret News outdoor writer Ray Grass. KUTV outdoor editor Reece Stein put it this way as he described the first edition: “It’s all here! From the Green River and Strawberry Reservoir to the 40 lakes on Boulder Mountain, this is the first complete fishing guide to the state that really fills avoid.”

Fishing is a very important part of my life and of many others. I direct a group home for people with disabilities and I am trying to get them involved in fishing. Unfortunately they do not have enough money to purchase their own fishing equipment to enjoy this fun sport. No im not asking for a cent!! I am asking people who enjoy fishing to help me make this possible for my friends who are disabled. I am looking for people who may have used equipment that they are not using anymore.

I am looking for used equipment donations. I am the director of a non profit organization that provides group homes for people with disabilities. Any donations to us will be a charitable contribution and can be deducted from taxes. We provide all the documentation needed for you to do this. My company is called the EVERGREEN CENTER and is in Milford Mass. My residents of my group home are Myriam, Sharlene, Warren, and Michael. Hopefully you would be able to help them enjoy fishing as much as you and I do. No I am not a member of EBAY..

Would that help in getting donations for my friends with special needs? That would be great!! Anyways some of you may not know but I have decided to creat a fishing club for people with special needs. I have registered it as a non-profit organization and have begun advertising. I am going to use all equipment we get through donations for this fishing club. So far, with my company and a couple others, we have 30 or so people signed up. The equipment will be used at our tournaments for people who do not have equipment. They will use the equipment to participate in fishing and learning seminars dealing with adaptive fishing. It is people like you and all who are donating that will help bring fishing to these people. I thank you all for your support. Hope to see you at some of our tournaments for people with special needs. our first one should be in may in Sturbridge mass. There is a nice place that has adaptive areas to fish for people in wheelchairs.

We want to keep the price down, so we’re not considering a “tour package”, but would like something along those concepts. We live in North GA/North Al, but will probably drive to the location (He’s pretty low on funds.) He owns a great Old Town Penobscot 164, which we’ve used to canoe through the Okeefeenokee Swamp in South GA. What we’re considering now is to try either the Voyagers National Park in Minn./Canada border. He is also reviewing some information about the “boundary waters/lakes”?

We desperate for a 4-6 day wilderness remote experience, chock full of exciting fishing. Both of us are fairly adept at Mountain Stream Trout fishing, as well as lake panfish/bass fishing. Our equipment is basically 9′, w6-wf (20lb) rod/line. It appears that Walleye, Lake Trout, bass, and Steelhead? are abundant in the V.N.P. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about catching lake trout, walleye, or steelhead. Can anyone give us an idea about techniques (dry fly, wet fly, nymph???)? Also, any comments/experiences about this national park? We are considering taking a 3-day, 2 campsite (accessible only via water) tour and stretching it into 6 days in order to maximize our fishing time. Any thoughts on the above? How about helping out some good ole southern boys looking for a great springtime fly fishing experience!

We do try to be responsible and act in ways that promote conservation and selective harvesting of our natural resources. (meaning from wood to fish). Education is a high priority to ensure that the efforts continue and grow. We in the north are taking responsibility for these efforts in so far as they are needed. I am sorry you are not having the same luck down south, but also have seen the mind-set you are facing, and I do feel for you. Every step toward progress on a public level is a battle like nothing we face up here. Most likely because up here, our lives depend on the resources around us.

The resources are keeping food on the table and rooves over our heads, so we probably are a little more sensitive to Mother’s needs than a person who is exposed to the cold hard concrete of a city. It is as well irresponsible and unthinking people who do not look far enough to see that while their efforts are needed in some areas, they are detrimental in others. Some areas fight for survival and are slammed every time a new protection law comes out that groups the entire province into one. Please keep in mind that Canada (God love her) is, with the break up of the USSR, now the largest country in the world.

Ontario is one eleventh of that country. Ontario’s Trans-Canada highway, starting at Young St. North in Toronto and turning into highway 11, heading north, then west for the next 20 hours to see the next province, is in a word, big. The needs of some areas are not the needs of others. People who do not realize this also do not realize that this lack of attention caused the northern politicians last year meet to discuss a possible separation from the southern part of the province. BECAUSE of well meaning people who see their needs as everyones.

It has to do with what’s right for the area. It’s pointless to cry “save the bluefin tuna” in the north because the problem is not one this region suffers. Just as yours are not ones that apply, and through current efforts may not apply. If you have a helpful idea for your problems, hey, that’s great. But don’t force others to adopt the ways that you need. Others have other needs.

While I may have mis-interpreted your motivation, you as a writer should understand how powerful a thing the media is. From this article you have written, there WILL be an environmental extremist that will present the idea to someone with more power. This may be a group such as PETA or a “collection of concerned peoples” who just want to make the A) general public or B)local politician aware of a growing problem. I can appreciate the need for this if it is kept to where the problem is. If you have a broken leg, there is no need for a full body cast, is there? Yes I am aware of purple loose-strife. In the town of Novar, ten minutes north of Huntsville is Fish Lake.

It’s a lake about a kilometer by a kilometer, great beaches and a fantastic cliff on one side that’s between 250 and 300 feet of climbable and repellable surphacel. I love this lake and consider it to be one of my special “at peace with the world” places. Last summer, by august, half of the lake was impassible due to loose-strife. I boated in a canoe, a fifteen footer, alone. Not much draft in it. I could not float over the root systems to save me, and did collect a lot of the flowers to destroy, but no-where near even a fifth of them. And the odd thing is that the two or three resorts on the lake who make their livleyhood off the beauty of the area seemed to be doing anything to preserve it.

Now it is starting up here. And yes, I am having a difficult time making the locals (who rarely ever even make it to North Bay, and then generally in the winter trying to escape the -40 celcius temperatures before wind chill.) believe it’s such a problem. Much as people from the states have a hard time believing that it actually does get that cold here. This region has been populated since the 1920′s. Many of the cities (actually the only city up here) has been around earlier than that. But with Simcoe county having a greater population than twelve hours driving from North Bay to Thunder Bay, I hope you can appreciate that our numbers are FAR less than yours, and pressure is minimal.

Even the resorts and outfitters up here are no-where near as profitable as the ones down south. Tourism is barely an issue because, face it. 95% of the population never makes it to North Bay when there is cottage country as well as the Haliburton Highlands, Algonquin Park and Parry Sound to accomidate them with rockscapes and lakes beautiful enough to make a caring person cry. Northern Ontario is populated by moose and bears (more of them this year!) and spruce trees and enough mosquitos and blackflies to carry off dogs and small children. Of the 5% that make it to North Bay, perhaps a generous amound at ten percent of that 5 make it further north. But even then, once you pass Temagami, the numbers die out even more. There is much less pressure. I stand by my last statement.
